Drove 2 Hours For A Manicure at Julep, And I Would Do It Again!

I have had an aversion to nail parlours because the heavy chemical laden air seizes my air passages and burns my eyes. At Julep Boutique Nail Parlours, the only scents are sweet burning candles and luxurious moisturizing creams. In short, this was so worth the two hour drive from Vancouver to downtown Seattle and I would happily make the drive again for another Julep experience. The ambiance in Julep is designed to make it a haven where girlfriends, mothers, and business women alike can come to unwind after a long day in a reclining chair by the fireplace, sip on mint infused water,  and have the Julep specialists work their magic on fingers and toes. When getting a nail treatment at Julep with friends, you feel like you are sitting in a cozy living room as all the chairs can be rearranged according to the size of your group

Before we left for Seattle I had taken the Style Quiz on the Julep website (which is surprisingly accurate) so I knew that they would have a colour that fits my personality and style (I chose Julia, a natural semi-opaque pearl rose). I indulged in a Julep manicure which included a reflexology massage, sea-salt exfoliation, moisturizing paraffin, luscious cream application, nail and cuticle preparation, free touch-ups for 5 days, and a brand new nail polish of my choice to take home. If I had a similar treatment in Vancouver it would have cost over a hundred dollars, but for Julep members it was only $36 (regular $48)!
The nail specialists are all so welcoming and a pleasure to speak with. They are diligent in giving you the best service and making your comfort the utmost importance. Even after your treatment is over, you are welcome to remain and relax and enjoy some refreshments. The Julep nail polishes take a little longer to dry than other brands I have used in the past, so the extra downtime was well used.

Julep is eco-friendly (no artificial nails here) and all of their products are 3-Free, formulated without harmful carcinogens, formaldehyde or DBP.

(Nail swatches taken 3 day after manicure. No chipping or loss of lustre)

THAT SOUNDS LIKE HEAVEN! And the price is amazing! Do you have to pay for a membership or something?

I want one here!

I signed up for the Julep Maven thing. $5 seems totally worth it! But I'm not sure what the price of the monthly boxes is...I guess they will email you each month and then you can decide to opt out or not... it's not very clear on their website. But I'm certainly excited for my $5 box!

They sent me more info today. Though still didn't mention the price, which I do assume is $20. And you only have 5 days to opt out. I wish it was an opt in thing.... but that's just because I can't afford to spend $20 a month on nail polish. Well, I usually already do, but I want more for my money. Based on the size of the Julep polishes they are more expensive than Chanel. Which I would probably never pay for. But $40 worth of stuff.... I am so conflicted, Lydia!
