No 7 and Poppy King Lipstick Collaboration Has Me Singing In Superlatives

No 7 and Poppy King are calling their limited edition line of 7 lipsticks "The Magic of Lipstick." Preaching to the choir! This lipstick addict needed little coaxing to try these especially once I saw the fantastically retro Marilyn-esque packaging. SOLD.
Poppy has said the polka dots on her packaging for Boots were inspired by Marilyn Monroe’s famous beauty mark and this collection was inspired by old Hollywood glamour and film icons. These bold, sheer lip colours are intended to offer the allure of old Hollywood bombshells to the everyday woman. How perfectly timed with the critically acclaimed My Week With Marilyn hitting theatres.

Each of the 7 lipsticks (named after the reaction they are meant to induce) have an accompanying gloss by the same name that is meant to magnify the colour and makes lips appear more plump. The seven colours are Intrigue, History, Glamour, Allure, Power, Confidence, Seduction. I was sent Intrigue
Intrigue is a deceivingly sheer soft rose-nude that warms the complexion instantly. Thought it was going to be red, didn't you? ME TOO!
(Left to right: Intrigue Gloss, Intrigue Lipstick one swipe, Intrigue Lipstick built-up, Intrigue Lipstick + Gloss)

In short, I love it. It is sheer but buildable, glossy yet sophisticated, retro yet not kitschy. The formula feels weightless on the lips because the formula is very thin (not to be confused with lacking in quality!). It infuses my lips with moisture that lingers even after the product has worn off. Because of the high level of slip and liquid-like feeling, the wear time is an average 2-3 hours.

Love it! I think I have one of these from my London trip somewhere's in my stash. See, that's what happens when you have too much makeup! You forget what you have!

This may sound slightly creepy, but I love your lip shape xD
It also helps you have a great hand at drawing your lips with whatever you are reviewing :)

Anyway thought I would mention that. plus the colour is so gorge~
