The thing I like most about these photos is that you can see the women's pores and congestion. Everyone has it! And you can see just how cakey the makeup has to be to stand up to the lights and heat and length of the night. Very neat.
That is why I picked them! I think it is important to show that photo editing is often used in magazines when in fact nobody's skin can be absolutely flawless. The lights on the carpet and the stage are so bright that they can cause makeup to melt, which is what happened to Milla Jovovich. On some of the closeups you can see her makeup start to melt.
JLo has a real "mask" around the top of her face/hair line. And I like that you can see the lip liner. It shows why people don't do visible lipliner in real life but why it works so well on stage and screen.
