Met Gala Best Dressed

The Met Gala never fails to provide one of fashion's most glamorous nights, a night where it really is all about the clothes. This year the Metropolitan Museum Costume Institute's night revolved around the theme of "American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity."

BEST DRESSED

1) Anne Hathaway in a rose-nude tulle Valentino gown, Ferragamo clutch and Bulgari jewels. A throwback to her Princess Diaries days, Anne radiates like, well, a princess.

1) Tied for first place is Jennifer Lopez. If Anne Hathaway was a princess, then Jennifer Lopez was the Belle of the Ball in a silver sequin-dusted Zuhair Murad Haute Couture strapless gown, Judith Leiber clutch and Sergio Rossi sling-backs with Stephen Russell and Cartier jewellery.

2) Marion Cotillard in a sliver sequin Haute Couture Dior gown, shoes, and clutch. So very Parisienne and so very perfect. I can not look at Marion Cotillard without hearing the soundtrack of La Vie en Rose.

3) Camilla Belle inspires '50s elegance in a red chiffon Jason Wu gown, Cartier jewelry and Christian Louboutin accessories.

4) Emmy Rossum in a royal blue Kenneth Cole dress with House of Lavande collar necklace of semi-precious stones. Emmy Rossum has one of the most beautiful heads of hair in Hollywood, yet she cleverly tied it all back so that it would not overwhelm her face along with the dress and necklace.

5) Nicole Ritchie in a shimmering silver Marc Jacobs Fall 2010 collection gown, Marc Jacobs clutch and a Harry Winston diamond bangle. This is boho glamour done right.

6) Rachel Weisz in a custom fuchsia Oscar de la Renta gown, gold Jimmy Choo sandals, Fred Leighton gold jewelry and a Roger Vivier clutch. This is the perfect tone of fuschia to compliment Rachel's porcelain skin and luscious brunette waves.

7) Zoe Saldana in a navy Calvin Klein column dress with gold Neil Lane cuff and cocktail ring. With Zoe in this dress, your eyes keep on going up and up and up and up. Perfect draping and the perfect silhouette. Unlike her Oscar gown, which engulfed her, this dress allows Zoe to shine.

8) Carey Mulligan in a short Twiggy inspired mauve, '60s mod, Miu Miu lace dress, Prada peeptoe shoes and Martin Katz jewels. I could have done without the black leggings and booties but I still think Mulligan looked pixie-pretty.

9) Claire Danes and Hugh Dancy both in Burberry. Claire is also wearing Fred Leighton jewels. Let us take a moment to be in awe of Claire's hair and makeup.

10) Diane Kruger and Joshua Jackson both in Calvin Klein and Fred Leighton jewsls for her. They both look so debonair and royal. Whoever said showing less skin is less sexy needs to take a good look at Diane in this dress.

Jennifer Lopez is my favorite. She looks amazing from head to foot--she really lives up to her title, the most beautiful.
