Best Dressed and Best Beauty At the Grammy's

This year I was very underwhelmed by the fashion choices at the Grammy's. There were a select few who really shone and get As on my fashion report card.

Top 5 Best Dressed:

1) Lea Michele in Romona Keveza: I think from hence foreward I should reserve a spot for Lea Michele on my Best Dressed list. She (along with Olivia Wilde) has been the belle of the awards season and she does not disappoint tonight.

2) Carrie Underwood in Edition by Georges Chakra: A preview of what this beauty will look like in bridal white?

3) Jennifer Nettles in Victoria Beckam: It only makes sense the fashion maven Victoria Beckam would release a fashion line that is glamourous and form flattering. I am going to keep my eye on this line because it seems very promising.

4) Taylor Swift in Dolce and Gabbana: I may be tiring of her ever-present messy chignon but this dress was a refreshing change for Taylor.

5) Jennifer Lopez in Versace: This may be a controversial pick, but Lopez's curves alone should get a perfect score. You need to be a certain kind of "caliente" to wear this dress and no one but Jennifer can work it so well.

Top 5 Best Beauty:

1) Lea Michele

2) Carrie Underwood

3) Taylor Swift

4) Jennifer Lopez

5) Rihanna

How I Organize My MAC Palettes

This was requested by one of my subscribers. Please note that this is the result of YEARS of collecting and I actually use all of these products-it is not just senseless collecting. (LE) dennotes limited edition products that are no longer available, however, MAC's colour range is so vast it is easy to find a very similar colour from the permanent collection. My camera is not the best quality so pictures may not reflect the true colour pigmentation.

Golden Globes Top 10 Best Dressed and Best Makeup

The collective gasp of designers everywhere was almost audible as Hollywood's finest stepped out Sunday night into a torrential downpour. Some of the dresses (which were truly works of art) were exposed to the elements:

but later appear to have emerged no worse for the wear.

Without further ado, here are my choices for the Top 10 Best Dressed as well as my pickings for the best makeup of the evening.

1) Lea Michele: When she stepped on to the red carpet in that black Oscar De La Renta gown I gasped. Absolutely stunning and worthy of a Broadway diva turned Golden Globe nominee. I am so happy that the dress got stage time after Glee's win for Best Television Comedy/Musical.

2) Sandra Bullock: Bottega Venetta? Check. Purple? Check. Divine? You bet! The fabric of this gown had an ethereal sheen as she manoeuvred the crowd to accept her most deserved win for Blind Side. With such a bold colour a woman can be lost in such a statement dress, but not our beloved Sandra. She has the personailty to wear the dress. Love!

3) Drew Barrymore: A modern day Venus in Atelier Versace. Albeit I was not too fond of the hip fringe on certain camera angles, but the rest of the dress was perfectly tailored for Drew. Instead of washing her our, the nude-peach accentuated her fair, glowing skin.

4) Olivia Wilde: We all know that Olivia Wilde is one of my style icons and she did not let me down this evening. I was suprised that I actually liked this silver Gucci dress (in spite of the plunging neckline which always makes me nervous); however, the silhouette did wonders for Olivia's refined stature and it was just enough of a departure from her People's Choice Awards dress to make a true statement.

5) Jayma Mays: This Badgley Mischka dress for some reason reminded me of the infamous Julia Roberts Valentino Oscar gown. It must be the white detailing and tulle. Nevertheless, Jayma with her quiet elegance looked like a princess.

6) January Jones: At first glance I was ready to dismiss this black Lanvin dress, but at closer look I grew to appreciate the subtle details. January resembled a young Grace Kelly in this dress. Suprisingly, the headband was the perfect accessory.

7) Jennifer Garner: If I look this good after having children, I would wear this form fitting Atelier Versace too! The biased cut panels accentuate Garner's physique in all the right ways, keeping her lean and curvaceous at the same time.

8) Kate Winslet: Classic, refined, elegant, distinguished...There aren't enough adjectives to describe the ever beautiful Ms Winslet in Yves St Laurent.

9) Mo'nique: Hollywood's new golden girl picked a dress by Reem Acra that was the perfect reflection of her performance and her win. Look at Oscars! Here comes Mo'nique.

10) Dianna Agron: This silver Badgley Mischka dress was age appropriate, elegant and did not overpower Dianna's petite frame.

BEST MAKEUP OF THE GOLDEN GLOBES

1) Sandra Bullock: It could have been a risky choice picking purple shadow with a purple dress, but the silvery mauve was the perfect hue; this colour accentuated Sandra's rich brown eyes. Her look was completed by a flawless face and peach glossy lips.

2) Christina Aguilera: Thankfully foregoing her past inclination to overly theatrical-bordering-garish burlesque makeup, this mature Aguilera is stunning in nudes and light pinks.

3) Ginnifer Goodwin: A perfect dramatic cat eye that knows when to stop before reaching Cleopatra-proportions. Ginnifer's flawless skin never ceases to amaze me.

4) Dianna Agron: I love her silver, sculpted eye and neutral rose lip. Understated glamour.
