Julep Maven Box Review and Giveaway

My Julep Mavenbox arrived and it is time to be unveiled! The total worth of the products in the box is $60 but it is available to you for $5 if you use the exclusive promo code at the bottom of this post or FREE if you win the giveaway ($20 for Julep Maven members).
The Goods

Who wants to save the best for last when you can talk about it now? My hands are smoother than a baby's tuckus thanks to the dynamic duo of the Facials for Hands Glycolic Hand Scrub and the Everyday SPF 30 Hand Cream. The hand scrub uses apricot seeds and and glycolic acid to gently and effectively exfoliate hands and smells faintly of natural orange oils. When paired with the moisturizing hand cream, hands are left irresistibly smooth and visibly refreshed. I am in love with these products and will definitely be repurchasing when the last precious drop disappears.

Grade: A+
The Toppings

Because this box was sent as a press sample, it was not customized to my style as it will be for Julep Mavens. These colours are not ones I would have picked for myself (I like soft neutrals, reds, and plums), but sometimes it is fun to step out of your comfort zone and take a risk.

**There is a reason I get manicures and don't do them myself-because my application skills are deplorable. Please excuse the messy nail swatches.**
Reese

Reese is a bright bubble gum pink that I refer to as a Las Vegas pink. It is a little too vivid for my taste but would be perfect for those of you who love statement nail polish and pedicures. It is a creamy, thick, and opaque so 2 coats is sufficient. The brush facilitates smooth application but I had to wipe of the top portion of the wand on the mouth of the bottle because a lot of product collects up there and streams down in a way that can make application messy and goopy.

Grade: B
 Alfre

Alfre
is quite streaky and requires 2-3 coats to get an even opaque covering. Strangely the streaking made this colour look more chromatic so it didn't bother me as much. This is a great colour for holiday parties as it is a great mix of graphite and purple.

Grade: B
