Shake Your Tail Feathers: MAC Peacocky Collection

"We fetishize the exotic peacock as a symbol of extreme beauty, raging against everything simplistic. New Kissable Lipcolour, combines full flash with creamy comfort. Mega Metal Shadow gleams like chrome-yet is creamy crease-resistant, with vitamin-fortified flexibility. Dramatic doesn't even begin to describe the who knows she's Peacocky."

This is the last MAC collection that I am going to indulge in for a while. I have checked the rest of the collections planned for Spring and none seem as inspiring or exciting as Peacocky. This is the first collection in a while that doesn't have recycled or predictable products. I think the concept behind this collection is ingenious and expertly executed.

This is a fairly large collection with 12 Kissable Lip Colours and 15 Mega Metal Shadows. I forewent the lip products, not because they don't look wonderful, but because I don't think I will get a lot of wear out the colours considering the extensiveness of my lipstick collection.  For me, the stars of this collection were definitely the Mega Metal Shadows.

The colours are not terribly original and I'm don't agree with the "metal" distinction, but they are absolutely gorgeous, wearable, and oh so creamy. I have been testing them all afternoon and evening and they are definitely crease proof and do not fade one iota.    Unfortunately, not all of these are created equal-some are more pigmented and metallic than others but they are all extremely high quality and blow MAC's other shadows out of the water. I would say that for the most part these eye shadows are between a veluxe pearl and Starflash in terms of colour pay-off and consistency.

Dalliance appears to have the slightest of mint green undertones. Peek-at-You (second from the left) is the least pigmented of all the shadows. Unfortunately, the camera can not pick up all the incredible nuances of these colours.

The one downside of these shadows is the price: $23.50 each Canadian (thank goodness for Christmas gift cards). This is because they are much larger than MAC's regular eye shadows. They are the same size as mineralize eye shadow duos and cream colour bases, but still smaller than the Venemous Villains mineralized eye shadows.

They are perfect for everyday. I think I may get the most wear out of them.
